Exterior Venetian Blinds are motorized, and can be integrated with other devices like sun and wind sensors. They are practically a requirement when building very high performance (low energy use) homes with extremely good insulation.
Exterior Sunscreen Shades
Roller shades made with exterior environments in mind, these products use more sturdy components, aluminum housings and heavier fabrics. They also often come with either side cable or guide rails for added wind stability. They are an excellent way to reduce solar gain, while still maintaining views. They are almost always motorized, though can be manual in some situations.
Custom Fabric Roman Shades
Roman shades are refined and elegant. There are several different styles depending on the fabric used and the desired appearance. Custom Romans can be lined on the back (or interlined) with light filtering or room darkening liner, allowing for some or no light passing through the shade. Roman shades can be manual or motorized.

Made in the Roman shade style, shades made with woven grass and reed material are a beautiful addition to any room. Like fabric Romans, natural woven shades can be lined on the back to increase privacy, permit light or for room darkening. Natural woven shades can be manual or motorized.

Shutters can look great almost any setting, but work especially well in more traditional homes, craftsman style homes and "Northwest Contemporary" homes.
